J.J. Campbell- A Poem

where the corn once was

a day of sunshine

rare anymore it
seems

the power went
out last night just
as i was reading
a letter from a fan

some would take
that as a sign from
god

i simply thought
these assholes out
here have a hard
time driving in
the rain

one hour later i
was trying to figure
out how i can afford
a generator simply
so i don't have to
reset all these damn
clocks

a day of sunshine

a cool breeze

leaves starting to
gather where the
corn once was

i believe i found
my pulse
