Carlo Campanella- Three Poems

Cancer Scare

Awake and bleeding from the lungs
mourning my sullen virginity
and apparent mortality.  I am not
pacific god almighty cruising paved
secular highway night, scarcely a man,
face shadowed with regrettable incontinence,
eyes wide with fear and gazing
into the abyss.

Relief

Alive forever

Chaos
          are march hares
                    laughing existential crises
mad as april lamb

No Longer Afraid of Bloody Sinks

Laughing wildly in the mirror
for the result
will surely be intractable.
