Mark Nenadov- A Poem

Winter Frost

So...
this is winter, my friend
ice on the windshield
     like flint
my freezing fingers fumble
for the keys.

The engine rattles
     in reply
to my bumbling fingers
as the hibernating creatures
heckle me from their haunts
buried deep in the ground.
